The Cofan Struggle
The indigenous Cofán Nation, an Ecuadorian Tribe of 1500, lives in northeastern Ecuador where they inhabit over a million acres of bio-diverse tropical rainforest at the headwaters of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
The Cofán Nation population, once 20000 strong, has been reduced to 1500 due to the impact of disease, pollution, and deforestation.
Since the 1970s, the oil industry had converted a sizable portion of the pristine rain forest into a virtual wasteland. Illegal mining and logging have led to widespread deforestation.

Annual Donation Make a one-time donation of any amount securely on line.

Ongoing Donation Our very best support comes from ongoing donations from individuals and families.
- Special Gifts and Grants Perhaps your family foundation or your company would make a significant contribution to support one of our projects. We welcome one-time designated contributions of $5,000 or more, and multi-year designated pledges starting at $25,000 up to five years.
Other Ways to Give
Work your Network
Ask your Audubon chapter, book group, bridge club, church committee, hiking pals, or soccer team to ante up as a group for $25/month or more. We’ll send everyone Cofán updates.
Donor Assisted Fund
Do you have a donor assisted fund? Ask your program officer to process monthly transfers to CSF.
